32 interstate and local poets, each performing 8 minutes of original poetry, battle it out over heats, semi-finals and a grand final at the Nimbin School of Arts.
Schedule
- Saturday 5th September — Heats, 9:30am – 4:30pm (4 heats of 8 poets, top 4 from each advance)
- Sunday 6th September — Semi-Finals, 11:30am (2 semis of 8 poets, top 4 from each advance)
- Sunday 6th September — Final Dinner from 6pm, poetry from 6:45pm (8 poets)
Delicious food available all weekend.

- Final: $10 / $15 at the door

- First Prize: $2000
- Other 7 Finalists: $300 each
- People’s Choice Award: $500
- Sound Man’s Award: $100
- Plus $25 and $50 encouragement awards

Poets are judged on Poetry (10 points), Performance (10 points), Audience Reaction (10 points) and Time (5 points), with fresh judging panels at each round to keep things fair. Full rules and the poet’s guide are available on request.
